WWW: I used different techniques on photoshop like levels and invert and I used these to make my images look more intriguing and interesting as I tried to make the colours come out more.
EBI: I should've explored photoshop more and played around with more of it's features so I could've made my picture better and of a much better quality.
In this picture Laszlo has used formal elements such as lines, shapes and he takes his pictures in black and white to make the lines of the edges more sharp and it extenuates them.
For this task I used the pictures that I chose to create a sculpture and I was also given a range of different materials like wire, glue and tape to help me build structure into my piece.
For this next task I took a picture of a landscape and using photoshop I added my sculpture to the picture to make it look like a real large scale sculpture.
WWW:I successfully created compositions with different edges in them by moving the objects around and choosing objects I think would have a good shape or form. |
EBI:My timing could've been a little better as some of my images came out a little light, but the shapes and edges are still visible, it would have a better effect if it were darker as the edges would come out more sharp and stand out more. |
WWW:I used the rule of thirds well and tried to make abstract compositions using it and combining it with the idea edges made very abstract and effective pictures.
EBI:Some of these pictures are a little dark and it is hard to see a few things so next time to make my pieces better I need to focus on making the exposure just right. My Favourite Image:This is my favourite image because it is just a simple pile of scrap paper I found on the side of the classroom, I took it as my time was about to run out and it was improvised on the spot so it was very random, because it isn't something that a photographer would usually take a picture of, but I was very happy with how it came out in the end because it looks very abstract and the subject of the image isn't very apparent when you first look at the image and your eye is draw to the layering and edges of the pieces of paper. In this image I also used the effect of light and shadows to create edges. This image is also my favourite because it is made up of things that I found by chance and they are placed in this specific position and pattern, and it was found this way untampered. |
I have chosen these three pictures as they all have the same subject and the object in the image is centred making them have the same effect. Triptych in Photography is where we chose three pictures that share a same formal element and we do this to make links between the photographs and see how formal elements can be used to make an effective picture. You create triptych by taking three images that link together through its formal elements and when they are put together they look like they should be together. |
My Evaluation of My Final Piece:During this project I was also able to explore new ideas of collage and this was something I wanted to try with photography as it can achieve very good effects but now I have done this I would also like to try making a collage with pictures with different shapes and sizes as in this piece I only used rectangular images that were smaller and bigger. However I stuck to my theme of primary colours very well as I took many pictures with the main focus colour of red. |
I have now finalised my piece and throughout this project I have been able to explore many different ideas of colours edges and angles of objects and this theme has helped me have a further relationship with the idea of primary colours and edges within photography. After finishing this project I would like to improve it by improving my presentation and the way I glued the images as they have started to come off after a while and I would like to improve on this next time or find a way to prevent it from peeling. |
