Sarah Lucas ('Self-Portrait with Mug of Tea':I have chosen this image from the National Portrait Gallery as my favourite self portrait as it is very abstract and very unique as it looks like multiple images put together to form this one image of a person doing a seemingly normal activity like drinking tea out of a mug. I also like the fact that this image has a deeper meaning behind it as it is the artist sitting in a rather stereotypical 'masculine' poses and she does this to challenge stereotypical representations of gender and sexuality.

Ollie Hayward Gayngel 2:This image comes from a series of images that come under the name 'Gayngel' and they explore ideas of queer sexual identity and these series of images were made by the photographer Ollie Hayward, who explores the ever changing views on sexuality and gender through the art of self expression.

Peter Keetman - Self-portrait with cameraI think this reflected selfie by Peter Keetman is the most similar to mine as it has elements of the motion blur and the same ideas of reflecting as both he and the camera can be seen in the picture like my own picture and this shows both the photographer and the instrument/tool used to take the picture. |
My favourite reflected selfie:I have chosen this as my favourite image as it has a very nice effect with the diagonal blur and the way you can see that there are different layers of me holding the camera and I quite like the effect and how you can't clearly see my face but can still try to make out what the picture is of. |
This is my first attempt and from it I learnt that for my next scans I need to be closer to the glass when scanning as there is too much light coming through and the image looks mostly dark as when I scanned it there is not enough of the scanner light reflection off of my face for it to scan properly. Although this isn't vey bad for my first attempt as I was still able to capture a small part of my face and make an image with it. |
